Announcing: Springtime 'Night Raver'
Feast or famine, Springtime will continue to sow their garden of auditory delights. Despite the global unrest and strict lockdowns that have come to define the past three years, Gareth Liddiard (Tropical Fuck Storm, The Drones), Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White), and Chris Abrahams (The Necks) have continually convened to weave narratives of death, destruction, desire, and devotion. Pulling the threads cast by their eponymous debut, Night Raver offers three character studies rife with the trio’s trademark urgency and poetics.
"'Names Of The Plague' is a little inventory of all of the pandemic's unexpected side effects," Gaz says of the EP's lead single. "A list of crappy little outcomes that'll probably linger and wind up being as much be as much a problem in the future as long covid. It was written by Ian Duhig and is myself, Jim and Chris with help from Dan Luscombe from the Drones on the baritone guitar."
One other thing that should be addressed: currently this EP is only available digitally. This is one of many incredible recordings from the TFS-related camp which have come to fruition in the Joyful Noise universe due to random late night phone calls with Gaz (in between discussions of time travel or UFOs or whatever). Due to our already packed release schedule, and the continually-delayed state of vinyl manufacturing, we are releasing this EP on digital only…at least initially. If you think it’s a crime for this EP to not be on vinyl, we have a petition you can sign. But for this moment, the bandwidth-gods have spoken.
