Goblin Cock 'Roses On The Piano' (from Rob Crow's Artist In Residence)
As some of you may, or may not know, I have had an ongoing relationship with Lord Phallus as his guitar tech, tour manager, and general caretaker for some time now.
On the road, he is in constant control of the radio.
That is to say, I play whatever I want, but if he doesn't like it, I am promptly beaten about the head with a special umbrella that he keeps under the passenger-side seat for just this purpose.
Needless to say, this puts me in a precarious position, as he demands music be played at all times following a negative experience involving him and series one of the podcast Serial which culminated in his jumping up and down on the car hood screaming about having "wasted hours" of his life listening to "vague ramblings of pure conjecture".
The irony is not lost upon me.
A perhaps greater problem occurs when it turns out that he actually likes something.
A yellow fire burns in his eyes so greatly that it's seen through his mask and everyone is summoned to the practice area to learn whatever song he's recreated in his own image.
It's one of these two outcomes EVERY TIME, so I usually try to talk him into traveling by trolly.
These songs are just a handful that he's deemed worthy, and were mostly all recorded in different studios, public bathrooms, bus stops, or Guitar Center drum rooms.
There's at least an LP's worth of Osmond Brothers songs alone sitting around the dungeon still collecting dust.
Quick shout out to fellow GC handlers Nick Reinhart, Tony Gidlund, and especially Tyler Lindgren for helping to make something out of this mess.
